I encourage pregnant families to take childbirth classes for many reasons...

1. To get up to date, evidence based information & options available to you.
2. To learn how to deal with common pregnancy discomforts.
   
3. To learn about body mechanics.
4. To learn about warning signs in pregnancy.
   
5. To learn communication & decision making skills.
   
6. To learn how to make a effective birth plan.
7. To learn what to expect during labor, delivery and after.
8. To learn pain relief options (both natural and medications).
9. To learn techniques & positions to help you have an easier birth.
10. To learn relaxation techniques (for both during birth and after)
    
11. To learn the ins and outs of breastfeeding
12. To socialize w/ other pregnant families and possibly even make lasting connections
13. Learn about support during & after birth (birth doulas, postpartum doulas, montrices, etc.)
14. Learn about what to expect in the hospital (get a tour, etc.)
15. I am entertaining!
